LILBOURN - Joe Edward Albright, 62, died Dec. 12, 2004, at his home in Lilbourn. Born March 31, 1942, in Lilbourn, son of the late Ernie Albright and Wanda Sue Duncan, he was raised by his grandmother, the late Effie "Tick" Duncan. LILBOURN - Joe Edward Albright, 62, died Dec. 12, 2004, at his home in Lilbourn.

Born March 31, 1942, in Lilbourn, son of the late Ernie Albright and Wanda Sue Duncan, he was raised by his grandmother, the late Effie "Tick" Duncan.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn where he taught Sunday school and also served as a deacon. A veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, he was owner of Albright Insurance Company, Farmer's Insurance Group and served on the New Madrid County School Board from 1979 to 2000. He was a past member of the New Madrid Masonic Lodge and was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army.

On Nov. 13, 1965, he married Ruth Ann Lewis who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tracey Albright of New Madrid; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Ryan Riley of New Madrid; one grandson, Joseph Matthew "Little Man" Riley of New Madrid; one stepgrandson, Broughton Landon Fisher of New Madrid; one brother, Dewayne Albright of St. Louis; and two sisters, Suzanne Streeter of Columbia and Nancy Sickler of Wentzville.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. J.D. McClard, pastor, and the Rev. Bill Reid, pastor of the Methodist Church in Lilbourn, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Dickie Weeks, Jim Lovett, Bill Jones, Ralph Barnwell, Jason Cope and John Paul Wescoat.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Henry, Joe Broughton, George Broughton, T.J. Woods, Frank Hadder, Tom McClarty, Terry Hawkins, Scott Riley, Larry Joe Holtzhouser, Pate Hogan, Nicholas Hogan, Jim Ashley, Harold Dial, Sam Pikey, Charles Hawkins, R.D. James, Randy Porter, Johnny Davis, Opal Bondurant and Jim Harris.

Ponder Funeral Home of Lilbourn is in charge of arrangements.
