Accident reported

EAST PRAIRIE -- Three East Prairie residents were seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports at 9 p.m., an accident occurred on New Madrid County Road 533 and Route OO, two miles south of East Prairie as motorist Chester L. Hankins, 17, traveled through an intersection, ran off the roadway and struck a ditch embankment.

Hankins and passenger William R. Doss, 13, were taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Hankins' other passenger, Monty George, 14, was taken by Arch Air to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
