PUXICO - Jerry "Pete" Koppman, 73, died Aug. 26, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Oct. 4, 1929, in Puxico, son of the late Louis Koppman and Lura Rollman Koppman Skidmore, he was a lifelong resident of Puxico. He owned and operated the Koppman Barber Shop in Puxico for 37 years and also raised cattle. A member of Masonic Lodge 596 and VFW Post 7822 in Puxico, he served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He attended the First General Baptist Church in Puxico.

On Sept. 13, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., he married Imogene Overbey who preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1998.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Del Ward of Puxico and Debbie and Darell Crow of Bernie; and two granddaughters, Whitney Crow and Mallory Crow of Bernie.

One brother, Edward G. Koppman, preceded him in death on April 26, 2003.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where VFW Post 7822 will conduct military rites at 7 p.m. followed by rites conducted by Masonic Lodge 422.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico and the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield officiating.

The SEMO Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff will conduct graveside military rites at the Puxico Cemetery.
