Mary Sutherland

ENID, Okla. - Mary Lee Sutherland, 60, died June 6, 2003, at St. Mary's Regional Health Center.

Born May 28, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., daughter of Ione Bollinger Welter of Sikeston, Mo., and the late Paul Welter, she was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. A graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Mo., she attended Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau and was a para-professional teacher's assistant with Enid Public Schools for 22 years.

On Aug. 10, 1963, she married James H. Sutherland who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: two daughters, Lisa Dowd of Little Rock, Ark., and Amy Ebel of Enid; one brother, Mike Welter of Sikeston; one sister, Pat Ray of Enid; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Ebel and Jessica Ebel of Enid.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Kowalski officiating.

Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Henninger-Allen Funeral Home of Enid was in charge of arrangements.
