Abner - Tibbs

SIKESTON -- Darrell and Cheryl Abner have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kersten Sara, to Ronnie Chad Tibbs, son of Ronnie and Jo Tibbs of Dukedom, Tenn.

A 1998 graduate of East Prairie High School, the future bride is currently working on a degree in office systems management at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She is the granddaughter of Dee and Elise Kemp of East Prairie and the late Sara Abner. Her future plans include owning and operating a photography studio in Mayfield, Ky.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1990 graduate of Dresden High School and is a calf roper for the Great Lakes Circuit of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The grandson of George and Charlene Legate of Cuba, Ky., is self-employed in Dukedom, where he also shoes and trains horses.

The couple is planning a June 7 wedding in Cape Girardeau.
