Alzie Gromer

DEXTER - Alzie Gromer, 94, died Sept. 14, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 7, 1907, in Vandalle, Ark., daughter of the late Henry and Ella Mason, she was a former resident of the Hill's Store Community and was a member of Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On April 13, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Hugh Guy Gromer who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1987.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Mary Gromer of Dexter, who was her caregiver.

Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Earl Ridge, Ernest Ridge, Lloyd Mason, Floyd Mason and Fred Mason; and three sisters, Modenia Mason, Ila Bauland and Addie Gromer.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Elbert Mason of St. Louis and the Rev. Dean Williams of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
