CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Sikeston boys swept he jump events on a cool, brisk day at the Cape Relays on Saturday.

The Bulldogs' Felante Larry, with the top individual long jump (23'-1") and triple jump (45-11), was chosen the field events Athlete of the Meet.

"Our jumpers had a tremendous day," said Sikeston coach Jerry Dement. "We really were pleased with our jumping efforts and Felante, individually, had a great day. To jump 23 feet (in the long jump) and almost 46 in the triple in 45 degree weather is pretty good."

Larry led a team of David Cody (19-0) and Apollo Patterson (19-0) to a win in the long jump relay. Then he, Brandon Williams and Cody combined to capture the triple jump relay. Larry also ran a leg on Sikeston's runner-up 4 x 100 relay team (44.2) with Williams, Brandon Washington and B.J. Green and the 4 x 200 team (1:33) with Tommy Strong, Williams and Green.

Cody, just a freshman, capped a strong performance by helping the Bulldogs to a win in the high jump relay. He teamed with Washington and Andre Goodwin, who tied for the best individual jump at 5-10.

Stephon Turner finished first in the open 110 hurdles with a time of 15.5.

The 'Dogs also placed third in the sprint medley, the pole vault relay and the shot put relay.
