BENTON -- The month of June was a good one for Joey Mack and the Mack Racing Inc. team, as they compiled one victory, three top-five finishes and four top-10 efforts.
Mack's lone June win came on Friday, June 24, at the Camden Speedway in Camden, Tenn.
Mack, behind the wheel of the High's Gift Shop/Boomland/Jay Cookson Farms No. 97, led every lap at Camden to bring home the $2,000 top prize. Other highlights of the month included a weekend that featured a fourth-
place run at the Malden Speedway and a second-place outing at the Poplar Bluff Speedway.
Mack, of Benton, also put on a show on Saturday, June 25, at the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon. After breaking in his heat race, Mack rallied from the tail of the B-Main to claim victory and advance to the $1,500 main event. Mack then started near the back of the A-Main and registered an impressive seventh-place finish.
"It was a pretty good month for us, especially last weekend at Camden and I
-44," said Mack. "At Camden, our car was really good all night long. It felt good to go over there and win that $2,000. Then at I-44, we just had some bad luck early in the night, but overcame it to finish seventh. I wish we could have started further up front, but that's how things go. We have a busy month of racing ahead of us, so we're just getting ready for that."
Mack's tentative July schedule is highlighted by five Stacker 2 Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) events, as well as several other unsanctioned shows.
The Mack Racing Inc. team currently finds itself 10th in the MARS point standings after ten events.
