MINER - Frank Tatum will remain Miner's mayor after narrowly defeating challenger Tom Brock by only four votes.
According to unofficial results, Tatum received 145 votes to Brock's 141 and Travis Smith's 47 during Tuesday's election. The mayor's term runs for two years.
Roger Moore will be the Miner police chief, beating out Wayne Smith 211 to 124 for the unexpired term of three years.
In Ward 1, voters opted to keep Mitch Thompson on the board of aldermen for another two years with 108 votes to challenger Tom Wilson's 85.
Betty Barnes, who was unopposed in Ward 2, received 105 votes.
County Clerk Rita Milam said the turnout of 24 percent of registered voters in Miner was on the high side for that municipality.
