CLARKTON - Marvin "Bob" Hill, 65, died June 8, 2004, at Clarkton.
Born March 12, 1939, in Parma, son of Harriet McKeller Hill of Essex and the late William Hill, he was a retired farm laborer and a member of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church near Essex. He had lived most of his life in the Malden area.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: four sons, Melvin Hill of East St. Louis, Ill., Darrell Hill and Tony Hill of Belleville, Ill., and Marvin Hill Jr. of San Bernardio, Calif.; four daughters, Sharon King of Belleville, Kim Hill and Evette Hill of California and Debra Mathis of Malden; six brothers, Chester Earl Hill of Essex, Donnie Wayne Hill of St. Louis, Ben Hill of Chicago, John Lee Hill of Sikeston, Charles Edward Hill of New Madrid and Ernest Hill of Marion, Ind.; five sisters, Betty Gay and Willie Lee Bailey of Malden, Mabel Jacob and Annie Thompson of Essex and Mildred Hill of Flint, Mich.; and 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, until time for services at noon with the Rev. James Turk of Sikeston officiating.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
