PADUCAH -- Sikeston sent nine swimmers to the Paducah meet on Monday for one last chance to swim qualifying times for the AAU Junior Olympics. Several Sharks improved on their times and qualified for additional events. Mary Kendig broke a 5-year-old team record in the 8 and under 25 freestyle with a time of 18.50. She also took first in the 25 breast (24.48), 25 fly (22.97), 50 free (44.29) and 100 IM (1:47.54)...

PADUCAH -- Sikeston sent nine swimmers to the Paducah meet on Monday for one last chance to swim qualifying times for the AAU Junior Olympics.

Several Sharks improved on their times and qualified for additional events.

Mary Kendig broke a 5-year-old team record in the 8 and under 25 freestyle with a time of 18.50. She also took first in the 25 breast (24.48), 25 fly (22.97), 50 free (44.29) and 100 IM (1:47.54).

Gabrielle Greer improved on her team record in the 11-12 division 50 free with a time of 31.50.

In the boys 9-10 class, Gratten Allen took first in the 50 back (44.73), 50 breast (44.42), 50 fly (47.66) and 100 IM (1:36.70).

Taylor Allen won the 100 fly in the girls 13-14 division with a time of 1:33.51.

In girls 9-10, Morgan Frasier took first in the 50 free (35.33) and 50 breast (44.99).

Lauren Medley won the 100 breast at 1:25.33 and the 50 free at 31.90 in the girls 13-14 class.
