SIKESTON -- William K. "Bill" Parker, 84, died at 3:10 a.m. July 5, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Sept. 22, 1917, in Sikeston, son of the late John U. and Cora Mae Baker Parker, he was the owner and operator of Parker's Garage for 48 years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In August 1940, he married Alpha Mae Clore who preceded him in death on May 28, 1972.

Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Schaffer of Sikeston; one sister, Dema Harrison of Fulton; and two granddaughters, Cherie Ann Smith of Cape Girardeau and Karen Clay of Sikeston and two great-grandchildren, Kiefer Clay of Sikeston and Sophia Smith of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Darter; five brothers; and one sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
