Lloyd Wilburn

SIKESTON - Lloyd Wilburn, 98, died at 7:43 a.m. Dec. 23, 2002, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 28, 1904, at East Prairie, son of the late Louis W. and Nora Hinton Wilburn, he was a self-employed farmer and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston.

He first married Ruby Rogers. Then on March 12, 1944, in Charleston, he married Novella McElreath who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1984. Later he married Ollie Combs who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Glenn Wilburn of Sikeston and Lindsey Wilburn of Ballwin; two daughters, Doris Jean Adkisson of Lafayette, La., and Peggy Ann Grimes of Sikeston; two brothers, Louis Wilburn Jr. and Roy Wilburn of Matthews; two sisters, Opal Myers and Helen Stallings of East Prairie; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel until time of services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Tippen, pastor of North Acres General Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Hupp, Bud Dock, John Schaffer, Hobb Chipman, Earl Watson, Jeff Archie, Jim Copeland and Carl Basinger.
