Maye Barnes
CHARLESTON - Maye Bradley Barnes, 80, died at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 13, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 26, 1925, in Scott County, daughter of the late Schuyler Anson and Rita Pearl Bradley, she was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School and was employed with First Security State Bank in Charleston. She moved to Cairo, Ill., in 1947 and worked until her retirement at Security Bank. She returned to Charleston in 1962, was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and of the Baptist belief.
On Sept. 7, 1947, she married Paul Wilson Barnes who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one brother, John Bradley of Godfrey, Ill.; two sisters, Ella Gaye Wolferding of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Vernetta Chappell of Cape Girardeau; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Anson Bradley, and one sister, Roberta Kathryn Powell.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jim Malugen, pastor of the First Christian Church in Charleston, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Mart Hart, Bill O'Guin, Benny Thurston, Darrell Thurston, Jerry Thurston and Wayne Wolferding.
