DONIPHAN - Lois M. Ray, 75, died Nov. 11, 2005, in Current River Nursing Center at Doniphan.
Born Jan. 31, 1930, in Portageville, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jane Brown Phillips, she was a member and former secretary of Antioch Baptist Church, a member of the Women's Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3485 in Doniphan, operated a grocery store and later worked at Fred's in Doniphan.
On Oct. 30, 1953, in Hernando, Miss., she married Carl Wayne Ray, who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1972.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by: four sisters, Alice Ray, Sylvania LeSeiur, Ruth Stewart and Carlotta Cook; and four brothers, Buddy Phillips, Ragel Phillips, Paul Phillips and Cletus Phillips. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Bill Spease of Doniphan and Dena and Mike Shelton of Jackson; one son and daughter-in-
law, Dennis and Julie Ray of Jackson; one brother, Carl Phillips of Portageville; two sisters, Betty Coon of Lees Summit and Shirley Perry of New Madrid; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.
Burial followed in the Springhill Cemetery.
