SIKESTON - Virgie Marie Hayes, 74, died at 6:10 a.m. April 7, 2004, at her home.
Born May 9, 1929, in Kennett, daughter of the late Grover and Minnie Dillon Neldon, she lived in Sikeston most of her life.
On Feb. 16, 1949, at Kennett, she married Albert Snowden Hayes who preceded her in death on April 5, 1985.
Survivors include: four sons, John Hayes, Jerry Hayes and Tommy Hayes of Benton and Jim Hayes of Port Richie, Fla.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Wooten of Margate, Fla., June Hayes of Scott City and Carla Tarver of Sikeston; and 17 grandchildren an six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one grandchild and several brothers and sisters.
No visitation is scheduled.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Scott City. The Rev. Terry Eades, pastor, will officiate.
