PORTAGEVILLE - Lily Finney Duckworth, 87, died April 6, 2004, at Marston.

Born Dec. 16, 1916, in Portageville, daughter of the late John William and Mary Ella Warren Young, she was a teacher's assistant for many years and of the Baptist belief.

On May 5, 1937, she married Bill Finney who preceded her in death on May 3, 1960. She and Vernon Duckworth were married March 10, 1978, and he died July 3, 2003.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Rose Mary and Thomas Williams of Marston and Gale Bethel of Scott City; one brother, Glenn Young of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Allie Gullege of Bernie; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Williams of Nashville, Tenn., and Steven Williams of Sleepy Hollow, Ill.; two stepgranddaughters and their husbands, Cindy and Jay Walker of Marston and Brenda and Mark Smith of Lexington, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Hiatt Williams and Sophia Williams of Nashville; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, David Walker and Nick Walker of Marston and Brooklynn Smith and Ragen Kolwyck of Lexington.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Ronald Finney and David Finney; two brothers, Jim Young and Walter Young; one sister, Mae Stout; one son-in-law, Buddy Bethel; and two grandsons, Randy Finney and John Stephen Bethel.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Wayne Tribble will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Bob Frazier, Robert Young, A.C. Hamilton and Jay Walker.
