DONIPHAN -- Lee Channell, 81, died May 16, 2005, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Hickman County, Ky., son of the late Clyde and Maggie Tucker Channell, he was a heavy equipment operator for Stagner Equipment Co. before retiring. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II.
Survivors include: seven sons, Randall Channell of Paducah, Ky., Joe Channell, Don Channell and Jim Channell of Mayfield, Ky., Stanley Channell of Sikeston, Jeff Channell of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Malcolm Channell of Sataria, Miss.; six daughters, Connie Daniels and Denise Hopper of Sikeston and Sheila Kay Dillinghan, Sherry Kerns, Vicki Channell and Diane Channell of Mayfield; one sister, Virginia Cooper of Clinton, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-
grandchildren; his friend, Linda Jackson and his dog, Tobey, of Doniphan; and his friend, Barbara Warren of Sikeston.
Friends may call from noon Thursday until time for services at 1:30 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with full military honors. The Rev. Brian Kerns will officiate.
