SIKESTON - Larry N. Oliver, 67, formerly of East Prairie, died at 4:15 p.m. July 13, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1938, in East Prairie, son of the late E.N. "Fats" and Colene Calhoun Oliver, he moved to California with his family following his graduation from East Prairie High School. He attended college in California, then enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two years in active service and four years in the Army Reserve. He was owner and operator of L & T Florist in Ontario, Calif. until moving to Sikeston in the early 1990s, where he worked at the Market Place Florist until assuming a security guard position at the Scott County Department of Social Services until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Christian Church in Mira Loma, Calif.
Survivors include: two brothers, Freddie Allen Oliver of Green River, Wyo., and Charles Andy Oliver of East Prairie; two aunts, Halene DeLeon of East Prairie and Bobbie Wicker of Anniston; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Anniston Cemetery with Martin Lucas of East Prairie officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
