SIKESTON - Farrell Bost, 84, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with our Lord July 13, 2005, at the Hunter Acres Caring Center.
Born Feb. 12, 1921, in Cleveland, Ark., son of the late J.J. Bost and Pearline Summers Bost McCoy, he attended First Assembly of God and was a retired farmer.
On Aug. 14, 1945, in Cleveland, he married Geneva Halbrook. They moved to Missouri in 1948 and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Farrell Bost and Kenneth Ray and Sherry Bost of Sikeston and James Richard and Barbara Bost of Matthews; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Steve Shuffit of Sikeston; one half-brother, Fines McCoy of Scotland, Ark.; and four grandchildren, Joseph Alan Shuffit, Sarah Elizabeth Shuffit and Kenan Farrell Bost of Sikeston and Dora Jill Polk of Matthews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Bost and Thomas Bost; one sister, Aliene McCoy; four half-brothers, J.C. McCoy, W.H. McCoy, A.D. McCoy and Lewis McCoy; and one grandson, Richard Glen Bost, who died in 1989.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. Brother Ron Tate, pastor of First Assembly of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
