A name change signals change in offerings at local business

SIKESTON - The merchandise offerings are changing at a long-time Sikeston business and residents will sleep better because of it.

Jack's Appliances is now Jack's Appliance Namebrand Mattress Outlet.

Still located at 501 Greer St. and still owned by Jack and Mary Summerlott, the business has expanded to include top-of-the-line mattresses at discounted prices.

"We are up to 60 to 75 percent below the prices found at other stores," said Summerlott. He explained the mattresses are typically discontinued styles, factory returns or mismatched.

Since the first shipment arrived in late March, Summerlott said business has been "great." Customers have found an assortment of all the "famous S names," he continued, noting many of styles available are the plush and pillow-top type mattresses.

Delivery is available on purchases, Summerlott added.

Jack's Appliance Namebrand Mattress Outlet is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
