SIKESTON -- In the Dixie Doorslammers, a special annual event, Jim Clement of Jackson, Tenn., took the top prize at the Sikeston Drag Strip last weekend.
Clement ran an elapsed time of 5.038 seconds with a dial-in of 4.99 at 126.36 mph and a reaction time of .448 second.
The runner-up, Duck Dyson of Ripley, Tenn., averaged 135.13 mph with an e.t. of 5.077 on a dial-in of 4.99 and a r.t. of .443.
Steve Yost of Imperial took the checkered flag in the Super Pro division with an e.t. of 5.824 (5.78 dial-in), averaging 120.61 mph with a r.t. of .522.
Jim Wade of Benton was the Super Pro runner-up with an e.t. of 5.306 (5.30 dial-in) at 130.54 mph. His r.t. was .499.
In the Pro class, Steve Pearson of St. Charles defeated Tony Jacques of Campbell.
Pearson ran an e.t. of 6.983 (6.98 dial-in) at 99.16 mph and a r.t. of .575. Jacques averaged 105.33 mph with an e.t. of 6.389 (6.38 dial-in) and a r.t. of .591.
In the ET class, Jeff Bowman of Festus was the winner with an average speed of 99.16 mph in an e.t. of 6.431 (6.38 dial-in) and a r.t. of .536.
Gibby Yates of Marble Hill finished second with an average speed of 84.92 mph in an e.t. of 7.882 (7.80 dial-in) and a r.t. of .590.
Winston Bobo of Memphis, Tenn., claimed the Pro Bike race, averaging 110.81 mph with an e.t. of 5.738 (5.72 dial-in) with a r.t. of .515.
Frank Linders of Washington, Ill., took second with an e.t. of 6.691 (6.66 dial-
in) at a speed of 107.68 mph and a r.t. of .551.
In the Street Bike class, John Weaver of Medina, Tenn., captured first with an e.t of 6.277 (6.34 dial-in) at 114.76 mph and a r.t. of .599.
John Binns of Marion, Ill., was second with an average speed of 72.71 with an e.t. of 7.500 (6.90 dial-in) and a r.t. of .551.
In Saturday's Junior Drag, Mike Crader of O'Fallon placed first with a speed of 59.51 mph in an e.t. of 10.510 (10.44 dial-in) and a r.t. of .511.
Taylor Bowman of Cape Girardeau finished second, averaging 83.48 mph with an e.t. of 7.662 (7.67 dial-in) and a r.t. of .518.
In Sunday's Junior Drag, Cody Graham of Millington, Tenn., edged Cody Wiggins of Kevil, Ky., for the first prize.
Graham ran an e.t. of 7.786 (7.73 dial-in) at 83.21 mph and a r.t of .545, while Wiggins ran an e.t. of 7.818 (7.83 dial-in) at 83.79 mph with an r.t. of .620.
