RENSSELAER, Ind. - James A. Ethridge, 55, died at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 28, 2004, at his home. RENSSELAER, Ind. - James A. Ethridge, 55, died at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 28, 2004, at his home.

Born Dec. 30, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of the late Fred Lee and Mabel Hanneman Ethridge, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for Schumacher Electric in Rensselaer for more than 25 years and was a member of the Eagles.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Shannon Ethridge of Columbus; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Glen Ethridge of Rensselaer, Merlin Ethridge of Stevensville, Mich., and Harold and Bonnie Ethridge of Sikeston, Mo.; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Robert Melton of Cherry, Ill., Frances and Jerry Daugherty and Patricia Ann and James Hanes of Portageville, Mo.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday at the Portageville Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Kespelher officiating.

DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville was in charge of local arrangements.
