DEXTER - Gladsia Bland, 95, died Dec. 30, 2004, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Sept. 9, 1909, in Dexter, daughter of the late Frank and Effie Jane Treat Anderson, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter and of the Dexter Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. A former tour guide for Pressley Tours, she served as the Dexter city greeter for many years.
On June 1, 1932, at Dexter, she married Verne C. Russell, who preceded her in death on July 22, 1971. On Aug. 14, 1976, she married Herbert Bland, who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1990.
Also she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, Mervin, Kenneth and Harry Anderson.
Survivors include: one brother, Walter Anderson of Peoria, Ill.; one stepson, Hadley Bland of Berkeley, Calif.; two stepdaughers, Betty Ann Adams and Peggy Fairchild of the state of California; and her sister-in-law, Nell Anderson of Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Leist and Roy Sherfield officiating.
Burial followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Dexter.
