PORTAGEVILLE - Charlie Duff, 85, died Nov. 8, 2003, in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 22, 1918, in Lion County, Ky., son of the late Jessie Hobert and Madie Ann Collins Duff, he was a retired farmer and member of St. Eustachius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Portageville.

On Nov. 30, 1940, in Portageville, he married Mary Frances Durbin who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Robert "Bob" Carter of Portageville, Rita and Russ Friedewald of Riverton, Ill., Teresa and Bill LeGrand of Kelso and Kim and Dwight Tanksley of Cape Girardeau; one son-in-law, James Blowers of Lexington, Tenn.; one sister, Alita Perkins of California; and 12 grandchildren, seven grandchildren-in-law, 10 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary LaWanda Blowers; one brother, J.C. Duff; and one grandchild.

Visitation begins at 5:30 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where a prayer service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Eustachius Catholic Church with the Rev. Allen Saunders officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Bob Carter, Jim Blowers, Russ Friedewald, Steven LeGrand, B.J. Tanksley and Brandon Tanksley.
