BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. - Aura Harper, 95, formerly of Matthews, Mo., died at noon Oct. 7, 2004, at the Heritage Square Nursing Center in Blytheville.

Born Sept. 4, 1909, in Matthews, daughter of the late James and Pearl Hunott Hill, she was a licensed practical nurse.

Her first husband, John Vaughn, preceded her in death.

On Oct. 30, 1955, in Sikeston, she married Max S. Harper who preceded her in death on June 8, 1998.

One son, two brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one great-great-granddaughter also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one daughter, Arvilla Vaughn Shaffar of Lumberton, N.J.; one brother, George Hill of Dexter, Mo.; and nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
