SIKESTON - Betty L. Noble Croxford, 72, died Oct. 10, 2004, at her home.

Born May 2, 1932, in Grafton, Ill., daughter of the late Russell and Verna Highfill Noble, she lived in Dow, Ill., for more than 50 years before moving to Sikeston. She had operated a beauty shop in her home for many years and was later an associate for the J.C. Penney Outlet Store before retiring.

In 1950, she married Kenneth Croxford who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1981.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Tricia Croxford of Sikeston; two brothers, Louis Noble of Dow and Delbert Noble of Harlingen, Texas; three grandchildren, Kimberly Bramlett and Andrew Croxford of Sikeston and Dr. Jason Croxford of Rockford, Ill.; one great-granddaughter, Whitney Bramlett of Sikeston; and a special friend, Lawrence Sconce of Jerseyville, Ill.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander-Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Elsah (Ill.) Cemetery.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of local arrangements.
