LILBOURN -- Tricia Lynn Lara and Joseph Alan McClarty exchanged wedding vows in a 6:30 p.m. June 8, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn. The Rev. Gary Henson, pastor, performed the ceremony.
A special prayer was recited by Larry McClarty of Tulsa, Okla., the bridegroom's uncle, and the bridegroom's cousin, Megan McClarty of Nashville, Tenn., read the scripture.
The new Mrs. McClarty is the daughter of Lisa Robbins of Marston. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David H. McClarty of Lilbourn.
Given in marriage by the bridegroom's father, the bride wore a strapless two-piece gown fashioned in white matte satin which featured a corset top, encrusted with a border of swavorski crystals and rhinestones around the sweetheart neckline and fitted basque bodice, which was laced in the back. The box-pleated skirt flowed into a cathedral train. Her rhinestone and pearl tiara secured a two-tiered bridal veil and the bride carried a bouquet of white roses.
Brandy Creasy of Portageville and Donielle Roberts of Lilbourn served their friend as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Jones of New Madrid, friend of the bride, Amber Lara of Marston, sister of the bride and Jennifer Bockwoldt-Harmon of Ellisville, also a friend of the bride. Shelbie Karafa of Lilbourn, daughter of Barry and Michelle Karafa, was flower girl.
The best men in the wedding party were Philip McClarty of Nashville, Tenn., cousin of the bridegroom and Brad Milam of Jonesboro, Ark., friend of the bridegroom. Attending as groomsmen were Chris Allen of O'Fallon, Tim Sullenger of Nashville and Brian Box of Lilbourn, friends of the bridegroom. Dason Milam of Jonesboro, son of Brad and Emily Milam, was ring bearer.
Serving as ushers were Ryan McClarty of Nashville, cousin of the bridegroom, Codey Robbins of Marston, brother of the bride and Chase McClarty of Houston, Texas, cousin of the bridegroom.
The wedding reception was held at the New Madrid Country Club.
Following a honeymoon trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Lilbourn.
