WYATT - Carl E. Sloan, 54, died Jan. 5, 2005, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 23, 1950, in Wyatt, son of Roberta Branch Sloan of Charleston and the late Zingo Sloan, he was a graduate of Charleston High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked for a levee district.
His wife, Mary Ann Sloan, survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, Carl Sloan Jr. of Millington, Tenn.; one daughter, Johnna Coopwood of Wilson City; five sisters, Mary Mitchell of Sikeston, Essie Greer and Lillian Bankhead of Wyatt and Ophelia Locust and Ethel Lee Sloan of Milwaukee; seven brothers, Bobby Sloan and Frank Sloan of Milwaukee, Johnny Tate of Hando, Miss., and Larry Sloan, Lindsay Sloan, Jimmy Sloan and William Sloan of Wyatt; and five grandchildren.
No visitation is scheduled.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston with Ronald Sloan, pastor, officiating.
Graveside military rites will be conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
