BERNIE - John Robert Bansept, 70, died Jan. 28, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Memphis, Tenn.

Born June 6, 1934, to the late John and Elizabeth Bansept, he was a former cashier in a convenience store and attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Bernie. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a member of the American Legion.

On Aug. 14, 1982, at Denver, he married Trellis Weathers who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Terry Bansept of Westminster, Colo., and John Henry Bansept of Canyon City, Colo.; two stepsons, Clyde Weathers and Donnie Weathers of Bernie; two daughters, Judy Couldry of Arlington, Wash., and Cheryl Strange of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one stepdaughter, Donna Marie Weathers of Lakewood, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stepsons, Kenneth Weathers and Jerry Weathers; one daughter, Debra Bansept; and one brother, George Bansept.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Dr. Richard Konichek will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military rites.
