GIDEON - A complaint about property damage led to the discovery of an illegal crop.

New Madrid County Sheriff's Deputies were assisting Gideon Police in the investigation of a property damage report on Monday when officers discovered marijuana growing near the front porch of the suspect's residence.

According to New Madrid County Sheriff Terry M. Stevens, a Gideon resident was taken into custody on charges of property damage, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
