Ferrell Gossett

SIKESTON - Ferrell A. Gossett, 90, died at 6:50 p.m. Jan. 7, 2002, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Nov. 16, 1911, in Hartman, Ark., daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Hardin Bennett, she was a member of the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and lived in Crowder for 25 years before moving to Sikeston in 1958.

On Feb. 6, 1934, at New Madrid, she married Phillip T. Gossett who preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1957.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Bailey and Pat Gossett of Doniphan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Danny Greene of London, Ohio, and Bobbie and Jim Vines of Sikeston; one brother, Lester Bennett of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Steve and Shirley Greene of London, Ohio, Susan Greene of Danville, Calif., Sherry and Jim Clark of Hayti, Mark and Tina Gossett of Riverside, Calif., Melanie and Robin Wiggins of Arlington, Texas, and Marty and Lori Vines of Benton; six great-grandchildren, Danielle Greene, Gared Greene, Antony Gossett, Anna Wiggins, Katherine Wiggins and Collin Bennett Wiggins; and two very special people in her life, Kay Fodge and Ressie Cantrell.

Five brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday with Elder Ray Ward of Memphis, Tenn., officiating.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Greene, Marty Vines, Roger Bennett, Barry Bennett, Ival Karnes and Dale Gossett.
