"Jerry" Bohannon

ST. LOUIS - Gerald D. "Jerry" Bohannon, 78, formerly of Sikeston, died Jan. 9, 2002, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Oct. 22, 1927, in Diehlstadt, son of the late Willie and Iva Gray Bohannon, he retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis and was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

On Jan. 22, 1948, in Sikeston, he married Patsy R. Heath who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Husmann and Pamela Hall of St. Louis; two sons, Tom Bohannon of St. Louis and Gerald Bohannon Jr. of South Carolina; three sisters, Mabel Merrick and Iva Mae Laub of Sikeston and Dorothy Moore of St. Louis; seven brothers, Don Bohannon of Louisiana, Roy Gene Bohannon of Decatur, Ill., Larry Bohannon of Ohio, James Lee Bohannon of St. Louis and Dell Bohannon, Clayton Bohannon and Glenn Bohannon of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Pratt and one brother, John Bohannon.

Services were conducted Jan. 14 at Ortmanns Funeral Home in St. Louis.

Burial followed in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
