Maloy Jackson
EAST PRAIRIE - Maloy W. Jackson, 89, died Jan. 11, 2002, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born May 27, 1912, in Humphreys County, Tenn., son of the late Lewis and Meda Haley Jackson, he was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie. He owned and operated Jackson's Welding Shop in East Prairie.
On June 24, 1933, he married Bessie Beatrice Coffer who preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 1997.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Hubert Woods of East Prairie; one brother, Ira Jackson of Burns, Wyo.; one sister, Lucille Ross of Union City, Tenn.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were one daughter, Juanita Williams; an infant son, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. today until service time at 1:30 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. George White will officiate.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park.
