Raymond House

PORTAGEVILLE - Raymond A. House died Jan. 15, 2002, after an extended illness.

Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Linda, to the late William and Elizabeth Davidson House, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for the Missouri Department of Agriculture for 33 years, retiring in 1989. He he was involved in farming most of his life.

On Dec. 27, 1946, he married Betty Sue Warth who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Deborah, and son-in-law, Pat McCrate of Portageville; one son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Karen House of Portageville; two granddaughters, Beth McCrate and Ashley House; three grandsons, David McCrate and his wife, Jeanie, Will McCrate and Josh House; three stepgrandchildren, Casey, Brooke and Ashely Kay Jackson; five sisters, Mary Weber and Margie Todd of Sikeston, Ruby Rooker of New Madrid and Gladys Smith and Betty Jo Butler of Portageville; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma House and Florence Hawkins; and three brothers, Luther House, William Robert House and Robert Eugene House.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Portageville with the Rev. Mark Inman, pastor, officiating.

Full military rites were conducted at the Portageville Cemetery by American Legion Post 595 of New Madrid.
