Elaine McBride

JACKSON - Elaine L. McBride, 78, died Dec. 2, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 23, 1923, in Jackson, daughter of the late Clarence and Agnes Dale Lett Reitzel, she graduated in 1941 from Jackson High School. She worked at Thorngate in Cape Girardeau and Litz Poultry in Jackson before retiring and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson.

On Aug. 12, 1942, she married Khurman "Cutter" McBride who preceded her in death on March 11, 1993.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Eual "Butch" Heacox of Eureka; one brother, Dayton Reitzel of Colorado; three grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Bill Baker and Eric Heacox of Eureka and Tim and Christy Heacox Jaynes of Sikeston; and her great-granddaughter, Rory Heacox Jaynes of Sikeston.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery.
