SIKESTON - Charleston's high school Bluejays twice defeated the Sikeston Bulldogs 33-18 in the B game and 33-18 in the A contest here Friday night.

CHARLESTON - William H. Billings of the law firm, McHaney, Billings and Welman has announced a "Hearnes for Governor Club" in Dunklin County is being organized to further the aspirations of Warren E. Hearnes of Charleston, now secretary of state.


SIKESTON - The right knee of Willard J. Bennett Jr. was thrown out of place when the member was jammed as he was entering an automobile at the high school building Monday afternoon.

CHARLESTON - An audit report covering 1979-81 was recently released by Missouri State Auditor James Antonio and according to the report, Mississippi County was in "good" financial condition at the end of 1981.


DEXTER - Loren Coffee, Dexter businessman, will become president of the Dexter Kiwanis Club tonight at the installation ceremonies at the LaHub Club. Coffee will succeed Sherrill Summitt as president of the club.

MORLEY - Scott County Central padded a 26-0 lead and rolled past East Prairie 93-23 in girls basketball Thursday. The Bravettes are 9-1, while East Prairie is 2-6.


SIKESTON - While many hospitals across the country face a nursing shortage, Missouri Delta Medical Center is prepared. The hospital, once caught in the shortage trap, has developed several programs that have resulted in a nursing pool.
