SIKESTON - A donation of $250 toward construction of an honor roll board in Legion Park, which will carry the names of Sikeston men in the armed service, was voted by the City Council at its October meeting Monday night.

NEW MADRID - The New Madrid County Central Eagles celebrated their homecoming Thursday afternoon with a parade featuring bands, homecoming queen royalty and floats. Following the parade, the NMCC Booster Club conducted a bonfire along the riverfront, introduced the coaches, players and cheerleaders and led the crowd in cheers.

SIKESTON The grand prize winner in the 1992 American Legion Cotton Carnival parade conducted Saturday was the Hunter Acres Caring Center. The nursing facility was awarded $800. First place went to a float made by Scout Troop 379 and the group was given a $500 cash prize; second place was Sikeston Board Realty with an award of $400; $300 went to Scout Troop 22 for third place; $200 was awarded to Scout Troop 3 for fourth place. Twenty bands and more than 26 floats participated in the 2 1/2--hour parade.
