Jerry Jones

BERTRAND - Jerry Wayne Jones, 56, died at 9 a.m. April 26, 2003, at his residence.

Born Sept. 7, 1946, in Wyatt, son of the late George H. and Sadie Lee Holt Jones, he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life and worked as a farmer, retiring in 1997.

His wife, Barbara Hartwick, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Robert Heppe of Bertrand; two daughters, Brenda Wilkerson of Wickliffe, Ky., and Hallie Owen of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Larry Jones of Zellwood, Fla., and Arnold Jones of East Prairie; one sister, Pat Hunt of East Prairie; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Irene Jones; two brothers, William Jones and George Jones; and two sisters, Barbara Jones and Mary Brewer.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mark Odle, pastor of the First General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: David Hurley, Gary Harper, Jamie Wilkerson, Rocky Allcock, Harold Allcock and Wayne Hood.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Michael Brewer, Jerry Brewer, Thomas Brewer and Kenny Hartwick.
