Pearson wins season opener

SIKESTON - Here are the results from the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.

Steve Pearson won the season opener with a 6.95 run on a 6.93 dial at 98 mph. His reaction time was .512. Runner up was Avery Sneed, who ran 6.27 on a 6.23 dial at 108 mph with a reaction time of .664.

Poplar Bluff's own Darrel Woodard won with a 6.24 dial. He ran 6.24 at 109 mph with a reaction time of .532. Second place went to Tony Jacques. He dialed 6.48 and ran 6.49 at 104 mph with a reaction time of .529.

Tom Everett took home the honors with a 7.12 dial. He ran 7.15 at 96 mph with a reaction time of .501. Frankie Radake finished second as he ran 6.74 on a 6.75 dial at 103 mph. His reaction time was .530.

Gates will open at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. Time trials will start at 3 p.m. and racing will begin at 5 p.m.
