SIKESTON - Lloyd G. Harris, 87, died Oct. 17, 2004, at John Cochran V.A. Medical Center in St. Louis.

Born Nov. 16, 1916, in Tennessee, son of the late James and Hattie Newberry Harris, he was an auto mechanic for Sharp Buick and later a self-employed filling station operator in Sikeston. A U.S. Army veteran of the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, he was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.

On Feb. 17, 1944, he married Josephine Russell who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Glendel Darlene Cole of Kokomo, Ind., and Marilyn Jo Harris of Sikeston; and two grandsons, Michael R. Crawford and Donald G. Crawford of Kokomo.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
