Hazel Hardy

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Hazel Hardy, 94, formerly of Essex, died Oct. 16, 2004, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 28, 1910, at Essex, daughter of the late Randall and Sarah Jane Taylor Langley, she was a homemaker and had lived in Cape Girardeau for the past four years. She had been active in the Cotton Boll Girl Scout Council.

On Nov. 20, 1941, at Dexter, she married James W. Hardy who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1994.

One son, James William Hardy Jr.; two brothers, Willie Langley and Harry Langley; and three sisters, Wilma Broxterman, Opal Langley and Susie Corlew, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mila Kay Lohmeier of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Wilson Langley and R.G. Langley of Essex; and one grandson and one great-grandson.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time for services at 11 a.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Henry Geichen will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
