KENNETT - Martha Locke Wallace, 79, died March 13, 2008, at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Dec. 17, 1928, in Columbus, Miss., to the late Oscar Brothers and Mattie Ashford Locke, she spent over 30 years working as a certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor for the state of Missouri and touched the lives of many people through her association with Alcoholics Anonymous. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church in Kennett.
Her first husband Glen Wallace preceded her in death. On Oct. 28, 1995, at Kennett, she married Gordon E. Masters, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Ashford Wallace of Santa Monica, Calif.; two daughters, Locke Wallace Ogens of Weston, Mass. and Lucie Wallace Cammack of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Julia Cammack and Martha Cammack and Katie Ogens and Wallace Ogens.
Services were conducted at 3 p.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Kennett with the Rev. Jocelyn VanBuskirk officiating.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
