SIKESTON - Mrs. O.T. Elder entertained at a picnic supper Friday evening in her yard as a farewell party for Mary Ann and Billy Jack Tomerlin, who are moving to Little Rock, Ark.

SIKESTON - The new Marks & Stearns Food Mart will have its grand opening soon, according to the owners, Albert Marks and Charles Stearns.

SIKESTON - After 35 years in aviation and approximately 10,000 hours of flight logged, Sikeston Memorial Airport Manager Don Wilson resigned from his position Monday.

CHAFFEE - Members of the Chaffee High School Class of 1957 conducted their class reunion July 3 at the Chaffee Elks Lodge. Classmates who attended the event included: Anna Mae Halter Smith of Ringgold, Ga.; Pat Gilmer Davis of Cedar Hill; Betty Seyer Glastetter of Chaffee; Mary Ann Duncan Kagle and Charles Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; Nelson Dukes of Dexter; Mike Pfefferkorn of St. Louis; Diane Lankford Kelleber of Arnold; Sue Gremar Ivie of El Paso, Texas; Mark Hopkins of Anderson, S.C.; Gerald Dame of Wolf Lake, Tenn.; Bob Smith of Bridgeton; Freelyn Cook of Hernando, Miss.; Larry Smiley of Salkville, Ala.; Darius Nance of River Ridge, La.; and John Montgomery of Overland Park, Kan.; with teachers Betty Spicklemier McIntosh of Fayette and Mary Hopkins of Chaffee.


BERNIE - Navy Chief Petty Officer Lawrence P. McClane, son of Betty J. McClane of Bernie, was recently awarded the Navy "E" Ribbon while serving aboard the fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Stonewall Jackson, homeported in Charleston, S.C. The ribbon is awarded to ships and squadrons who have won battle efficiency competitions.
