DELTA -- Teresa Gail Schearf Cooper, 42, died Oct. 10, 2003, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
On Dec. 7, 1991, Teresa and Brent Cooper were married at their current home in Delta.
Teresa was employed at U.S. Poly Enterprises as plant manager. She was also president and founder of Sundog Animal Sanctuary, the first no-kill sanctuary in Southeast Missouri. This was a dream come true for Teresa, as she had compassion and love for God's homeless pets.
Survivors include: her husband of the home; her parents, Alvin and Maebell Bradshaw Schearf of Delta; one sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Tab Collins of Delta; one nephew, Alan Ray Collins of Delta; and her father- and mother-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Cooper of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Alan Wayne; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Burial will follow in the Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.
