PORTAGEVILLE -- Sikeston's volleyball team lost to Portageville in straight sets on Tuesday, 22-25, 18-25. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs drop to 6-11-2 on the season.

"The varsity is still playing a little too inconsistent," said Sikeston coach Steve Beydler. "We are continually placing the ball over the net without terminating it. (The other team) is able to run their offense and then put the ball back. We are consistently having to play on the defensive."

Kaiser had two kills, Vining added one. Berneatress Hunt had two kills and three blocks. Wooley had two kills and one block, and Quinn Kaiser provided one kill.

"The team is having trouble getting more than one point," said Beydler. "We're not stringing together two and three points, and the other team seems to consistently get two or three here and two or three there, and slowly pull away."
