Willie Avery

SIKESTON - Willie Evelyn Avery, 61, died Oct. 7, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born July 27, 1942, in Ridgely, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Mary Ella Hopson and James Martin.

In 1965, she married Lincoln Alfonzo Avery Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2002.

Survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Evelyn and Frank Steele and Kay Lane of Sikeston and JoAnn and Anthony Ransom of Cape Girardeau; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lincoln and Tawanna Avery of Sikeston and Freddie and Ernestine Martin of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Pauline Hamilton of Charleston; and 14 grandchildren.

Three daughters, one son and two brothers also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at the Lighthouse Ministries in Sikeston. Billy Williamson, pastor, and the Rev. Anthony Ransom will officiate.

Burial will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
