BERTRAND - Dorothy L. Middleton, 72, formerly of New Madrid, died at 12:20 p.m. Oct. 6, 2003, at the Bertrand Retirement Home.
Born June 19, 1931, in Jackson, Tenn., daughter of the late Charlie and Vivian Wade, she lived in New Madrid most of her life. She was a certified nurse aide at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for 15 years before retiring and was a member of Abundant Grace Church in Bertrand.
In 1946, she married Earl Middleton who survives of the Bertrand Retirement Home.
Other survivors include: one son, Steven Middleton of Charleston; one daughter, Betty Hendrix of Kansas City; one brother, Ray Wade of Springville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Fred Middleton, and seven brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation is from noon Wednesday until service time at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bill Bradley, minister of Morley Church of Christ, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
