CHARLESTON -- A Chicago, Ill., man was killed near Marshall Street and a gas mart store in Charleston Sunday.
Marvin Partee, 21, was found with a single gunshot wound to his head after Charleston Department of Public Safety officials received a call about a possible gunshot victim early Sunday morning, according to DPS Director Paul Johnson.
Mississippi County Coroner Terry Parker said suicide was not the cause of death and that it was definitely murder. He ordered an autopsy after the crime scene was closed off Sunday and expects complete results later today. Once the autopsy is finished, the body will be returned to Partee's family in Chicago, he said.
Johnson said the investigation continues with three persons under suspicion.
