EAST PRAIRIE - Phil W. Porter, 67, died July 8, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 15, 1936, in Coldwater, Miss., son of the late Homer and Irene Cassell Porter, he lived in Missouri for more than 50 years.
On Oct. 15, 1961, he married Rosie Strayhorn who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five sons, Arbie Agnew of Cairo, Ill., Elmer Agnew of Cape Girardeau, Delmer Agnew of Dixon, Ill., Phillip Porter Jr. of Charleston and Larry Eugene Wheeler of Saginaw, Mich.; two daughters, Kay Porter Lewis of Jackson and Linda Porter Bradley of Sikeston; one brother, Walter Howard Porter of Erie, Pa.; four sisters, Minnie Louise Brown of Florissant, Alreatha Smith of Barlow, Ky., Vada C. Strayhorn of Pinhook and Mary Louise White of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon Saturday until service time at Union Baptist Church in Pinhook. The Rev. Sylvester Davis will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Sparks Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
